As far as I can find, Disk Cleanup is the only way to remove this data and yet it’s not working. Can anybody suggest something that will work? FWIW, the reason I’m trying to delete this folder is that Windows Update errors out when trying to apply Windows 10 version , So I’m good there. Unfortunately, this didn’t fix the problem about not being able to apply the new Windows build. I’ll have to keep working on that.
So far I haven’t received a suggestion for what could be causing that upgrade to fail and I’m leaning towards deleting the volume and starting over.
If you used a retail Win10 key then it could have been easily retrieved from the system before reinstalling. I’m going into Disk Cleanup and specifying I want temporary Windows installation files removed. The utility appears to take action but it doesn’t actually remove anything from this folder.
